Is this Marketplace plan offered where you live?

Start with the exact plan and coverage year. Then ask the official Marketplace to check your home address. A plan in a public list does not confirm that you can enroll or that your doctor is in its network.

Copy the exact plan and year

HealthCare.gov shows a 14-character Plan ID below the plan name when you preview plans. For an enrolled plan, check “My Plans and Programs” in your Marketplace account. The Plan ID differs from your Application ID. Keep the full identifier, including any extra suffix shown in plan documents, and the coverage year. The insurer’s name alone is not enough.

Check the home address, county and ZIP code

A service area is the geographic area where a plan accepts members based on where they live. CMS files can list a whole county or only part of one, with ZIP codes for that partial area. Ask: Is this exact plan offered at my home address for this coverage year? Which county and ZIP code are on my application? A county name or ZIP match in a public file does not settle eligibility.

Use the Marketplace for your state and year

Use the official state Marketplace route below. Check whether you are viewing this year’s coverage or a future year. An old listing does not establish a plan’s current availability. If the insurer and Marketplace show different options, ask them to compare the exact Plan ID, year and address. Helen has not confirmed your enrollment or submitted an application.

Ask about doctors separately

A service-area match does not prove that a doctor or hospital participates in the plan’s network. Check the exact plan’s provider directory, then contact the insurer and the provider’s office. Ask about the doctor, facility, location and date of care. Ask separately about benefits, referral or approval rules, and expected charges. Helen has not verified provider participation, a price or an approval.

Get help through the right channel

For individual or family coverage through HealthCare.gov, call 1-800-318-2596; TTY 1-855-889-4325. If your state runs its own Marketplace, use its official help route. HealthCare.gov’s help page also links to local enrollment assistance. For a plan’s network or benefits, use the insurer’s contact on your card or official website. This guide does not cover SHOP employer coverage.

Keep a clear record of the answer

Ask: Which exact plan and year did you check? Does it cover my home address? Which document explains the service area? Where can I find the current plan documents and provider directory? What still needs confirmation before enrollment or care? Keep the date, reference number and any written answer so you can compare conflicting information.

Frequently asked questions

Does a plan in Helen’s finder mean I can enroll?

No. A public listing identifies a source record. Confirm the current plan, coverage year and address through the official Marketplace. Enrollment, dates, savings and personal eligibility need their own review.

Does a service-area match mean my doctor is covered?

No. Ask the insurer and provider about the exact plan network, provider location and date of care. Service area, provider participation and service coverage are separate questions.

Can I use last year’s plan information?

Use documents for the coverage year you are checking. Last year’s name, ZIP list, network or cost does not confirm the next year’s rules.
