Terms of Service

By accessing or using the Helen insurance card scanner service (“Service”) at forhelen.com (“Site”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

Helen is a free tool that scans health insurance cards and translates complex insurance benefit information into plain English. The Service is provided at no cost.

The Service is not insurance advice. Helen provides simplified explanations of what appears on your insurance card. It does not provide insurance recommendations, medical advice, legal advice, or financial advice. Always contact your insurance provider directly to confirm your benefits and coverage.

• You upload or photograph your insurance card using the Site.
• The card image is processed in your current session to extract and explain the information shown.
• No data is stored. Your card image and the extracted information exist only during your active session and are not saved, retained, or stored by Helen after your session ends.
• Card text is processed using third-party AI services (Anthropic Claude API) to generate plain-English explanations. Anthropic’s data handling terms apply to that processing.

The Service does not require you to create an account, provide an email address, or submit any personal information beyond the insurance card image you choose to scan during your session.

You agree to use the Service only for its intended purpose: scanning and understanding your own insurance cards or cards you are authorized to access. You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Service
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
• Use automated systems (bots, scrapers) to access the Service in bulk
• Upload content that is not an insurance card or that contains malicious code

The Service, including its design, code, and content (excluding user-uploaded card images), is owned by For Helen LLC. “Helen” and the Helen logo are trademarks of For Helen LLC (trademark registration pending).

You retain all rights to the insurance card images you upload. By using the Service, you grant Helen a temporary, limited license to process your card image solely for the purpose of providing the Service during your session.

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

Helen does not warrant that:

• The Service will be uninterrupted or error-free
• The explanations generated will be complete, accurate, or current
• The Service will meet your specific requirements

Insurance information changes frequently. The explanations Helen provides are based on what appears on your card at the time of scanning and may not reflect recent changes to your coverage. Always verify with your insurer.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, For Helen LLC and its officers, directors, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from your use of or inability to use the Service, any reliance on information provided by the Service, any unauthorized access to or alteration of your transmissions or data, or any other matter relating to the Service.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless For Helen LLC from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated Terms on this page with a new “Last Updated” date. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and For Helen LLC regarding the Service.
